I highly recommend both the Hop On-Hop Off bus and boat tours. You can save a lot by purchasing a combined ticket at your hotel for either 24 or 48 hours (32.50 or 42.50 Euros). That said, be aware of the following: 1. Bus Stop 1 'Central Station' is actually a walk to the east on the canal front towards Musiekgebouw concert hall (if you look up you'll see the sign on top of the building). Look for the red HOHO banner on the roadsideof De Ruijterkade; 2. Bus Stop 2 'Passenger Terminal Amsterdam' is a misleading description. The stop is across a road, a tram track and then a main road from the Terminal; 3. Boat Stop 1 'Central Station East' is actually down some steps to the water directly in front of Loetje Restaurant to the SE of the Station; 4. Boat Stop 2 'Passenger Terminal Amsterdam' is also misleading. The stop is across the canal inlet from the Musiekgebouw in front of Waterfront Amsterdam cafe. Look for green & yellow signs. There is no red HOHO sign! Hopefully this info will save you the confusion we encountered on our first visit to this busy, bustling city.
The key to making the most of this experience is to use the app. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our experience, because we were constantly aware of our location and the location of each bus and boat. As we left our hotel, we realized that a boat was nearing stop 4, so we decided to start with a boat. Throughout the sailing journey, we used the provided earbuds to listen to the commentary. We learned a lot during a nice leisurely trip through the canals. Later, we hopped on a bus at stop 4, then got off at 9, because we wanted to explore Vondelpark and the surrounding area. When we were done there, we got back on a bus and went to stop 10, where we walked to/through the Jordaan area and to the Ann Frank house. When finished there, we recognized that there were no buses close to our location, but a boat was on the way, so we decided to hop on another boat. The system is laid out well, and the app makes it easy to see the locations of buses and boats in real time. You don't have to stand at a stop, wondering when the bus or boat will come. Our bus drivers were not so pleasant, but our boat skipper (both times) was a very nice person who has be navigating boats for more than 30 years. Her name was either Pirka or Prika. Very nice person, like most of the Dutch people we met in our time in the Netherlands.

We went on the hop on hop off bus as the weather was not good and we didn't really know where to go. Cost 27 euros per person. 10 stops on route. Starts at 10.00am and stops at 7pm. Interesting places to get off and areas to look around, we found the Heineken Experience and Gassan Diamonds
Great 👍
We use these bus services in many cities we travel as a great way to get an overview of a city if it's your first time. This was well organized and easy to get a ticket and find stops. Would recommend to first time visitors.
Every time I go to a new major city, particularly when I'm abroad, I always buy tickets on the hop-on, hop-off bus. It really is the most efficient way to see the main stops and be able to get off and get back on when you've finished. In Amsterdam, you get the extra treat of being able to take a canal boat ride as well. Of the two, for me, the canal boat rides was hands down the best. Our boat operator was very nice and it was just such a serene experience to float down these canals and see all the charming architecture and sites of interest. I was just so relaxed the entire time. The bus, sadly didn't have as much on the route. There are nine stops but thee wasn't as much to see from the bus routes as you do from the boat. Likewise, I saw some things from the bus that were not near the canals to see from the boat. I still advise to get a ticket with both bus and boat so you don't miss a single inch of this beautiful city.
Hop on and hop off activity 🤩 The best activity in amestrrdam Covered the city in one day …
Immer wieder schön.🤩
Brilliant tour, thanks so much!
Great way to tour around the city is hip hop bus. There are many sight seeing places and you will really enjoy..
The Hop on and hop off was great experience to explore the city. There are almost 9 or 10 stops where you can get down or catch the bus and explore that area..you can also get few discounts vouchers at the bus or tickets counter for the museum, Heineken experience and other Amsterdam siteseeing experience.. You can also explore the city with canal cruise experience, this was amazing experience..
Y hoy dia 21/1/2020 he vuelto de amsterdam.
Trevlig personal. Bra ljud i hörlurarna under guidningen, stördes dock ibland av att bussens egen personal talade samtidigt.
Zeer leuke daguitstap gehad met dit concept. Eerst de hop on hop off boot genomen.
Topper!!
